Domain Host d’Art is pleased to announce that version 3 of it’s affiliation software is now ready. After the last 2.0 major release of our software, which introduced a free companion Adobe Air application that lets you bulk load in Zazzle Galleries and Cafepress shops (among other features), it was time for an overhaul of the back-end administration portal.
After a few late nights and some very helpful testing (a special thank you to SagArt) a new set of features have already been installed on your domains. I wanted to list just a few of the key features:
Faster Browsing
The first feature I want to draw your attention to is the speed increases of the public portion of your website. It now loads seconds faster, almost instantaneous in some cases. The largest shop right now has about four hundred thousand products (that’s 400,000) and it still produces pages just as fast as a small 40 thousand product shop.
Advanced Templating
You can now customize your store to look the way you want. Using the supplied templating kit you can alter the look & feel of your Domain Host d’Art domain to anything you want. If you like css and html and want to personalize your customers shopping experience than this is the route for you. Bulk Actions
You asked for it and you got it! Bringing in a shop with a thousand sections of products takes a bit of elbow grease to properly categorize. Luckily you can now Bulk Move and Remove sections right from the Category Admin panel making it quick and easy.
And don’t forget the bulk actions on Products! You can now Move Products to any other section. You are no longer limited just to holding sections. You can bulk remove products. And even better, you can bulk select products and create a new section with them! That really helps to speed up those shops and galleries that mix multiple products into the same product line/shop. And it all works very fast. You can completely customize where your products reside and build some amazing niche sections. That’ll really help the SEO.
Contextual Administration
You can now jump to the next and previous section from the current section. When you’ve imported a large shop and want to add some SEO goodness to the descriptions this is a real time saver. You can also quickly jump into the Category parent or the Top Menu. Being able to quickly maneuver means that you can get more work done in a single day.
Expanded Menus
The left side menu has been expanded to include the lists of Top Menu’s, Sections and Categories delivering an unobtrusive way to move around your domain.
New Look, Faster Site, Less Memory Required
A new interface has been implemented that increased the speed of the administration portal and reduced the memory requirements while still retaining the existing functionality.
Many more smaller features
A plethora of new features are hiding everywhere. From tightened code making things run faster to adding new options to a Top Menu’s visibility, the whole administration portal has received a good scrubbing. It has undergone of two weeks of rigorous testing and has dealt with 100s of thousands of products. Even better, sitemaps for a 400 thousand product shop now takes just seconds.
What’s Next
Can there really be more? You bet! The next major release will introduce products and banners from other merchants than just Zazzle and Cafepress. I’ve some exciting ideas that I can’t wait to code and release to everyone.
